Hard to believe that December has come and Christmas is right around the corner!  But what an exciting time for Christians ... to once again focus on the incarnation of Jesus Christ.  It's truly amazing that an infinite, holy, righteous, eternal God would become man so that He could redeem sinful men.  I'm grateful to be one of those for whom Christ came, died, and rose again!

This Sunday marks the 2nd Sunday in Advent where we recognize the "light of Bethlehem."  Perhaps you remember from Luke 2 where the angel told the shepherds in the field, "for unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord."  Is it of any significance that Bethlehem is described as "the city of David"?  This will be our focus this coming Sunday as we worship Christ together.  I would encourage you to read 1 Samuel 16:1-13 for some background info on why Bethlehem is called "the city of David."  Remember also to take time to prepare your hearts for the Lord's Supper.
